ellen matheson RMT
Ellen grew up in a small town on the east coast of Canada, and was introduced to the healing power of touch in PEI while working as a Resident Care Worker. Following her intuition, Ellen moved to Toronto in 2006 to study Massage Therapy.
Like many others, Ellen has dabbled with exercise to varying levels of success. She has reached a breakthrough of sorts with her most recent physical challenge: cycling. The key, beyond the personal sense of achievement and enjoyment, has been integrating exercise into her lifestyle -not simply treating it as a ‘workout’.
However, for Ellen, being healthy is not just doing exercise or eating a certain way. It is about combining all activities to build a lifestyle that holistically promotes and enables health. Healthy activities are not just physical – last year Ellen co-founded a book club that has helped her find balance and ‘the calm’.
Ellen strongly believes that integrating massage therapy into one’s lifestyle – for injury prevention, treatment of injury, or to de-stress – can facilitate the development of both physical and mental health. As a resident and practitioner in the Junction, Ellen is committed to providing excellent care to her community of Toronto’s west end at the calm.
Since completing the ICT Kikkawa College Massage Therapy Program in 2008, Ellen has become certified in: Prenatal Massage, Functional Therapeutic Taping, Myofascial Release, and Therapeutic Ultrasound.
Ellen is in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and is also a member of the Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario (RMTAO).
