mike hoo RMT, NKT (level 2)
Mike Hoo began his career as a health professional 17yrs ago, upon completing a diploma in Shiatsu Therapy. He has been a practicing Registered Massage Therapist for the last 10yrs in Toronto’s west end. For the past 2 years, Mike has been Personal Training on a part time basis. And currently is Outreach Supervisor at ICT Kikkawa College.
Mike’s personal and professional practice is centred on the idea of restoring balance, through a combination of soft tissue work, exercise, and mental well-being.
Over the years, Mike has come to understand the value in not only preaching the benefits of an active lifestyle but living it as well. Being a relatively inactive youth, Mike discovered the value of training while working at the Running Room where he has coached all the running clinics from ‘Learn to Run’ to Marathon. He has now completed 3 marathons, the last of which in minimal running shoes. Today, running is just another aspect of a fitness regime that includes cycling, TRX training, snowboarding and Shaolin Kung Fu.
Mike has completed both 2200 hour programmes in Shiatsu Therapy and Massage Therapy. He was the recipient of the Clinical Excellence and Professionalism Award at ICT Kikkawa College in 2007. Mike is certified for Level 2 – Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) , Kinesio Taping – KT1 and KT2, and most recently Therapeutic Ultrasound.
